What is
pulse oximetry
?
Pulse oximetry is a
useful method of
monitoring patients in
many circumstances, and
in the face of limited
resources, the
pulse oximeter
may represent a
wise choice of monitor,
as with training it
allows for the
assessment of several
different patient
parameters.
What is
SpO2?
SpO2 means, that the
oxygen saturation levels
are being measured
repeatedly, every few
milliseconds.
Each measure gives a
Spot-like image of
current oxygen
saturation level.
Who can use it?
Patients who need to
monitor
SpO2 level
Pilots exposed to
hypoxia at high
altitudes
Asthma patients
COPD patients
Mountain climbers and
others engaged in high
altitude activity
How does Meditech
oximeters
operate?
The
oximeter works
according to Lambert
Beer Law: Our
oximeters omits a near-infrared
pulse (a 660nm ray and
940nm near-infrared
ray). The light passes
through the skin, "hits"
red blood cells, and is
partially absorbed. The
part which isn't
absorbed is picked up by
the photoelectric
sensor, and being
analyzed. The analysis
is calculated according
to the haemoglobin (R Hb)
and Oxyhemoglobin (02 Hb)
reflectance factor.
Reflectance factor, is
an index that shows the
exact amount and length
of light that a
substance will absorb,
when it is being "hit"
by a certain wavelength
of light.
What is the normal range
for each Meditech
pulse oximeter
display?
Individual normal range
should be defined by
your physician.
Can I put it on wet (or
bloody) finger?
No. This model is not
water resistant, and
exposure to excessive
moisture will damage the
device and void the
warranty. Wipe all
moisture from your
finger before inserting
into the flexible
thimble. If finger is
injured or bleeding- use
a different finger.
Where should I store the
product?
It is best to store the
product in a cool place
with ambient
temperatures
-10-40¡ãC(14-104¡ãF) and
10%-80% humidity ( It is
recommended that the
product should be kept
in a dry environment at
all time. A humid
ambient might affect
oximeters life span and
even might damage the
product.
Please follow the law of
the local government to
deal with used battery.
How do I operate the
device?
1. Install 2 AAA
batteries into battery
cassette before. (FOs,POs2,FOs2+)
2 A A batteries into
battery cassette before.
( 90s )
Rechargeable battery
into
battery cassette
before. ( Fos2 pro ,90P )
2.spread the clamp.
3.Place one finger in
the
oximeter
(it is best
to plug the
finger thoroughly) then
release the clamp.
4. Press the switch
button once on front
panel.
When should I replace
the batteries?
A warning light will
appear on screen when
batteries are to be
replaced.
